Title: Shotmodel Supervisor

Description:  I sculpted the base body for Thanos during pre-production of the film.  I had the priveledge to work with a great team of artists to a create a believable and photo-real character.

Afterwards, "shotmodels" were created over the animation designed with dialogue from Josh Brolin for the character screen test. This entailed re-sculpting the animated character in every new pose dynamically to ensure accurate muscle flexion and articulation providing the realism and believability necessary for a digitally created starring character in a major motion picture.

 

Marvel Studios approved our screen test and sent many compliments our way. Digital Domain was awarded primary character duties on Thanos based on our screen test.  Thanos' minions were also awarded to the studio along with many other assets.

 

We were all very proud of this accomplishment, however I decided to leave Vancouver, BC and Digital Domain just two months after pre-production had ended for Avengers: Infinity War.  My former co-workers did a wonderful job bringing the project to life.  I am happy that I had the opportunity to help DD acquire this project and for the time I spent working on it.  The Marvel films had been leading up to this climax for many years and having a hand in the creation of such an amazing villain and character is something I will always be proud of.
