SPIDERMAN: HOMECOMING

Title: Shotmodel Supervisor

Description:  This was a huge project for me and a fairly large scale project for Digital Domain in general.  I had recently come off a 3 month vacation when I jumped back in to a full time grind for another eight months of long hours for this show.

However, as a huge comic book fan and Spiderman being one of my favorite characters I was stoked to be a part of this project, to say the least.

I was a supervisor on this film and ran the shotmodel deptartment.  Coordination between the Rigging, FX, Cloth, and other departments was significant in creating the Spiderman model and everything that goes with that, including muscle builds, muscle systems, dynamics, corrective blendshapes and set driven keys for the rig, along with a medium size team for shotmodels fixes.

Outside of the Spiderman model I helped out with a animated geo fixes and completed animation for the ferry scene and multiple digital doubles.  One of the trickery elements was animating the cables wrapping around the ferry tower to tie the ship together, which sounds like it would be simple but if it makes its way to me that means all other attempts have failed.  I personally spent three whole days making that work for a perfect shot.  I also had the opportunity to work on a bunch of promotional images, as well.

Hard work, but really fun times.
